Introduction

In line with the manadate and mission of the hospital, the Directorate of Paediatrics and Child Care Health aims at offering super specialized care for Paediatric patients, carry out training and research.

This includes the following:-

1. Neo Natalogy: This consists of the medical care given to newborn infants especially the ill or premature newborns.

2. Heamatology: This involoves the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders in children.

3. Paediatric Nutrition: This focuses on the dietary needs of infants to support growth and development, including changes in organ function and body composition.

4. Gastroentelogy & Hepatology: This supports children with disorders that affect the stomach, intestines and liver.

5. Endocrinology: This concentrates with the disorders of the endocrine glands, such as variations of physical growth and sexual development in childhood, diabetes and many more.

6. Nephrology: This involves the diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders affecting the kidney and urinary tract, including kidney failure, high blood pressure, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and abnormalities in the urine such as blood.

7. Respiratory & Allergy: This handles conditions in children caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system such as fever, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma among others.

8. Gastroentelogy & Hepatology: This specializes in preventing, diagnosing and treating children health complications in the digestive tract, pancreas, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon.

9. Emergency and Critical Care / Acute Care: This particularly takes care of serious and may be life-threatening in children that require immediate medical attention.

10. Adolescents' Health Care: This involves the range of approaches to preventing, detecting or treating young people's health and well being.

11. Paediatrics Neurology: This deals with the diagnosis and management of nervous system conditions in newborns, infants, children and adolescents.

12. Immunization: This focuses on keeping the children immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine.

13. Sickle Cell: This closely monitors and takes care of the blood disorder a child is born with.
